A Room For Two

I have evidence, proof you will see
That something else lives in my room with me
I wish I could say he’s cute or sweet
But he’s the creepiest thing in the world to meet

It was late at night & the air was chill
When a draft slipped through my windowsill
I pulled the blankets up to my chin
And swiftly fell asleep again

All was quiet, but suddenly I froze . . .
When eight little legs touched the tip of my nose!
I didn’t dare jump, although wanted to scream
It was hard to tell if this spider was mean

He tickled my cheek as he crawled drown my face
Tried to stay calm, but my heart still raced
He gave me a smile, was he about to bite?
Does he have fangs that grow longer at night?

I refused to move, as he strolled down my chest
Under the covers, he laid down to rest
He was only a cold spider, friendly as can be
And was looking for heat that radiated from me

But that’s alright, we can share my room
“Goodnight spider, I’ll see you soon!”
